Woman Knifed in Birmingham Bus Shelter Attack Dies
The female victim who was stabbed to her neck area in an unprovoked attack near a bus shelter in Birmingham has died, police have confirmed.
The victim, who was 34, was targeted on Smallbrook Queensway street, just outside Bullring shopping complex, shortly before 21:00 GMT Friday evening, according to police statements.
The suspect, 21, appeared before Birmingham court on Monday, charged over the attack.
He was previously accused of attempted murder however after the victim's passing charges were upgraded to include murder.
Law Enforcement Actions
The force said officers would be around the city centre on Monday to offer reassurance, while detectives assisted the victim's relatives.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the accused, identified as British citizen of Black ethnicity, and is believed to have been wearing grey athletic wear, black hat, trainers and rucksack.

The stabbing happened near Bullring retail complex, opposite primary access point of New Street railway station.
Police said they classified it as "unprovoked attack" and Det Insp James Nix said they were working to understand the motive behind.
Witness Accounts
An area worker, who works nearby, recounted the emergency response when she finished her shift around 10 PM Friday night.
She described the scene as extremely disorderly, adding that co-workers reported hearing a commotion around 9 PM.
"A lot of my colleagues use transit services, ride the tramline... our security is compromised essentially, in the downtown area."
Another individual, twenty-five, resident of Stoke, said he came the city quite frequently visiting his partner resident there, and was concerned about what had happened.
"It causes concern for my girlfriend," he stated.
"She lacks transportation and works at all of the big music venues... and to think a totally random act [happened], you know, it's horrible."
